Miami Beach Bar to Open “North Beach Pro Bono Legal Program”

Miami Beach February 2, 2008 - The Miami Beach Bar Association is pleased to announce that beginning February 6, 2008, it will commence its “North Beach Pro Bono Legal Program” hosted by UNIDAD located at the Coral Rock House, 1701 Normandy Drive, Miami Beach.  This program is in partnership with the “Put Something Back Pro Bono Project” and is made possible through a grant from the Florida Bar Foundation.

All media is invited to a short opening reception to be held between 12:30 – 1:00 pm on Feb. 6th to commemorate the opening of the “North Beach Law Clinic”.  City of Miami Beach

Miami Beach February 2, 2008 - At the City of Miami Beach Commission's first meeting on January 16, 2008, Mayor Matti Herrera Bower won unanimous approval from her seven-member commission to move forward an Education Compact between the City and the Miami Dade County School District. That same afternoon, the Mayor appeared before the Miami Dade County School Board and again won unanimous approval from that nine-member board to approve the Education Compact between the two governmental entities.

     It has been confirmed that at the city Commission meeting in regards to the parking cashiers and attendants RFP. No one from the public except those hand picked to muddle up the RFP

     I don’t know but this whole thing looks as through it was is set up from the beginning.

      Pack the commission chambers an demand to speak. What ever side you are on it is not important, only that’s city hall learn they work for us and we should be shown respected.

      They will not even let the members of the Selection Committee speak. So we will never know what deals were made

 
Miami Beach April 5, 2008 - At its December 12, 2007 meeting, pursuant to Resolution No. 2007-26731, sponsored by Commissioner Jonah Wolfson, the Mayor and City Commission authorized the Administration to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for parking cashiers, attendants, and supervisors for the City of Miami Beach Parking System, in an attempt to save the City money during this year of budget reduction due to lack of funding, while retaining the same quality of services.
